I received an ARC copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you NetGalley!
This was a fun, short read. The story was original and innovative. I was pleasantly surprised at how the authors managed ti create such a complex and intricate world in so little words; politics, old mythology, societal structure and so on. Although the book, more so a short story, was short, it was complete.
The only down side, is that the reader is bombarded with information in the first fifth of the story. I had to reread passages to make sure I know which character was who and doing what. As the story goes on, however, it all makes more sense, because the reader understands the characters and their roles.
I would have liked to see a little more of Colin in the story too. He is in the prologue, and I would have thought him of more importance in the plot, but I assume he will be more present in the second installment.
