I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Nikki Landis!
I was overall satisfied with this book! To begin with, I like Emily as a main character. She does the brave thing and listens to her heart when it comes to the men in her life. She is caring and compassionate. Her heart also gives her strength to do the right things. She is not the only one to do so in this book.
Bash, oh that sexy angel, also follows the path his heart sets out for him. The author is trying to portray a valuable message : follow your heart - it will not lead you astray. I believe that we must intellectually challenge authority and think : Am I doing the right thing by following the rules? Now don't go and break all the laws, but think about what you are doing. Question it. Reflect upon it. Did I go off on a tangent? Yup.
Anyways, I felt as though the crescendo at the end (falling action) could have been a little more developed; emphasizing the gravity and intensity of the situation more. I have so many unanswered questions, and I cannot wait until book 2!
