I received an ebook of this novel from the author, and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Jane Anthony!
Swoon!!! This book was so swoon worthy. It deals with serious subject matter - it’s heavy and dark - but still manages to be exceptionally sweet.
Chase and Kat are complicated. They’re fractured humans who need to help each other mend their fissures. They have demons that are rooted in them - a lifetime of them. Seeing them revealed throughout the novel is heartbreaking yet done in a beautiful way.
I’m so happy that this book featured the greek culture. I’m not talking about mythology and demi-gods. No. I’m talking about the beauty of the language, the type of families they are. It’s about time Greeks were represented in contemporary romance, and it made me so happy to see it.
I also want to applaud Jane Anthony for bringing up such hush hush topics such as alcoholism, suicide, dependance and addiction. She did it so well and with grace. Her characters are not perfect, but that’s what makes them beautiful. This quote is my favoutite from this book : ““Some people walk a straight line down their paths while others zigzag.” It perfectly sums up the characters and the story.
