I received an ARC if this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Faey Bonne!
I have got to say that Bonne has a very original style of writing. It's formal and reminiscent of old storytelling, yet modern and fresh. This contrast is the appeal for me, with, of course, her reinvention of fairy tales.
This twisted retelling of Little Red Riding Hood was a great story with more mature themes than the original. This book is so different from the base story, yet to associate-able to the children's story.
I like how Bonne broke "convention" in a sense with her plot twist. Although some previous parts were predictable, this one was less so, and it's just so alternative and left field, that as you read it you will say to yourself: "No. Way."
Faey Bonne is quickly becoming one of my go-to authors.
