I am going to be honest. When I first started this book, I didn't like it. At all. It was dull, a little awkward in the writing, and I forced myself to keep reading, and reading. It was only half way through that I started enjoying the book. There was rhythm to the plot, advancing at a comfortable yet exciting pace. This is when the book got better with each passing page.

One thing that bothered me throughout though, was the writing. In some parts, it was great, amazing even, with flourishing descriptions and insightful narration. However, it was also paired with short sentences or phrases which seemed out of place. For example, near the end of the book, there is a vivid description of someone dying (I will not say who), and it ends with this: "(previous sentence) ... [insert name] dies." I am not kidding. It was an epically beautiful paragraph, three little dots, and "[name] dies". Really? That was abrupt.

Anyways, the plot is great, and so is the revelation of the intricacy of it at the end. I would absolutely read the sequel, as that ending just left me shocked and wanting more. If you are like me, and do not get into the book right away, keep pushing and you will be rewarded.
