I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. thank you, Adriana Locke!

What a feel-good book! Not only is this book about romance, but also about family; about the importance of sibling and elder relations. About the non-related families formed through long years of friendship, and in some cases short days.

I have to say that every time Locke comes out with another Landry book, I am both extremely excited, yet very warry as I want it to be good because I love this family so much. Being an only child, I have never experienced such strong family ties. I am happy to report that Locke, as always, did not disappoint. She gave her characters distinct traits and personalities. She made me fall for a secondary character, Peck, whom I am praying will get his book.

Like in all her books, she stresses the importance of honesty and communication in a relationship. She does follow a structure though, where we know that something will happen at 80% through the book. What she does to compensate though, is completely surprise us with what that something is!

Great job by Locke on this one!

Yes, yes, YES! Finally, a sports romantic comedy which is actually funny, amazingly sweet and captivating. Lucky Number Eleven has made me want to regularly watch football. It hits all the feels and ticks all the boxes of a good rom com.

What I really enjoyed, were Locke's references to her Landry Family series. I found that that intertextuality really worked, especially for her previous readers.

This book deals with the very issues, or facts of being with an athlete. How being on the road can drive a wedge between couples, and how the media is simply everywhere and extremely annoying.

Anyways, it really showed that this was a subject Locke is passionate about, due to the quality of the book.

I received an ARC if this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thanks Adriana Locke!

I know I say this at every Landry book, but this Landry is my favourite. I really wish I could befriend Camilla. She'd probably hate me cause I'd totally drool over Dom, but hey, who wouldn't?

I love how, even though this book is a Landry Family book, it offers a more outside perspective of their family. We really got to see the Landry men from an other angle. Sometimes I even got mad at them! *gasp* Those Landry men, gotta love 'em.

Another aspect of this book I really liked is how different it was from the others. I think I say that at every book as well. The stories, although all related, are all different, and all the characters have distinct personalities. I believe that that is one of Locke's strengths as an author.

The only thing that bothers me slightly, which may be unavoidable, is the flagrant "romance book formula". It's what I call the generic plot outline. Everything goes decently well, and then at 65-80%, a huge falling out happens. The "Will they get back together, or will they not, but you know the answer" moment, followed by an epic declaration and resolution of dramatic conflict. But, hey, it works, so why fix something that's not broken?

Besides that, SWOON! Wait, did I just come up with another book name for this series ;)

Ford is possibly my favourite Landry yet. He is dirty minded (like me), super sweet and just simple. He isn't one for the frivolous things in life. It's what he likes most about Ellie.

Ellie is such a great role model and female lead. She's a bit of a tomboy, but she's sweet as peaches (is that an actual saying? My brain just thought of it and thought is was a saying, and now I'm doubting myself) I love how Locke broke from the feminine, girly, trope that tends to repeat itself in romance novels. Finally a woman who likes fishing! (Because I do!)

Locke's writing never seizes to improve. There were some sad and emotionally intense scenes in here that did make my eyes water. I'm glad that she never stops pushing herself as an author in her books, and explores her "limits" - more like her "imaginary limits".

Overall, probably my second favourite Locke book so far. It's definitely catching up to Sacrifice! Can't wait to see what the next one will have in store for us!

I love Graham. No, I really do. He encompass everything I look for in a man, and Mallory is so much like me it's crazy. Their drive to excel gets in their way of their relationship, and it was beautifully executed.

Adriana, what's with you and food and sexy time? ;) Anyways, this is my favourite Landry family installment, and I just read right through it. I never put it down by choice, and would've read it in one sitting if I could. I am huge fan of Adriana's humour, and it was plentiful in this novel. She cracked me up within the first chapters, and it's great when you laugh at your phone in public right? Totally acceptable.

I am super pumped for Ford's book, and cannot wait to read some more Landry lovin'.

You will not be disappointed with this book, so go on ahead and pre-order this one!

I received an ARC of this book from Give Me Books in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Give Me Books!

This was a fun and light read. I loved Lincoln in the previous book, and was super excited to read about him in Swing. Let's just say I was a little disappointed.

The storyline simply felt generic and unoriginal to me. Guy wants girl, girl plays hard to get, guy ends up getting girl, then loses her, and lastly wins her back for the happily ever after. I understand that this is the recipe, but it just seemed to be more flagrant in this one. It was missing some of the oomf I come to expect from Adriana's books. The intended oomf, unfortunately, fell flat.

However, this does not take away from the fact that this read was fun and funny, and that I am still hopelessly in love with Lincoln. There were a panoply of baseball analogies that made me laugh, and Lincoln is such a charmer *swoons*.

My favourite part of the book was the interaction between Lincoln and his father, and the thoughtful conversation they have, that portrays his father in a different way than in the previous instalment (once you get there, you will know what I mean).

Happy Reading!

I received an ARC of this book from Give Me Books in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Give Me Books!

I need to start off this review by saying that I went into this book not being entirely sure of what to expect, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Should I even be surprised? I mean, it's Adriana Locke after all!

This story line was absolutely original showing a perspective of the dangers in both working in a mine, and loving someone who works in a mine. How both parties wear scars from the environment.

It was beautifully innovative in the display of raw emotion, yet still familiar in the way Locke's writing is. I felt pangs in my chest as I was reading this book from all the emotional roller coasters. So many ups and downs Locke!

Lastly, I want to say that the last chapters were both expected and unexpected, and that totally messed with me. I was telling myself: "It wasn't supposed to happen like that! No!" - NO SPOILERS.

I have received an ARC from Give Me Books in exchange for an honest review.

I believe that this is my favourite Adriana Locke book thus far. I could not put this book down. I loved this book because of how Locke was able to weave an impressively realistic tale about a love story in the public eye, showing both the good and the bad.

Alison is such a strong woman, and we are instantly fond of her from the very beginning. She is an amazing single mother, who is protective of her son, and who is the most responsible person.

Barrett is my favourite male character Locke has created. He is such a good supporter, and he treats Alison and Hux so well. And, Oh dear Lord is he going to blow your mind!

Adriana Locke even made me laugh multiple times throughout the novel, and obviously laughing in public places when you're alone is not the best for your appearance, but I didn't care, because I was just really enjoying my book. :)

I firmly believe each of you should read this marvel, so head on over to the Promotions tab, and you'll find purchase links!

I have one more word for you readers: GRAPES!

Initial Reaction to The Exception:

"Oh dear lord that ending! So many things all at once. It was beautiful. Cane is one of my top book boyfriends. (I think Jada would agree) Jada wasn't one of those annoying female characters in romance books. She was strong and passionate. A true model. The story line was also extremely exciting and captivating."

Current Reaction (not so far off):

I truly love how Adriana adds some action and suspense into her story lines. This gives the plot so much more for the reader to grasp and latch onto than a straight up romance novel.

Jada is one of my favorite female characters in novels. She is strong willed, stubborn, believes in her morals and is passionate. She is the epitome of what a strive to be.

And finally, Cane... Where to start? *starts  daydreaming* Well, all I can say is read the book and you will SWOON!

I received an ARC from Give me Books in exchange for a review. Thank you Give me Books!

I want to start this review by saying that I was utterly moved. All my efforts to not cry had gone to waste during this read. The storyline is absolutely beautiful and demonstrates how the world can be truly unfair to good, honest people. I got really attached to all the characters in the book, and never disagreed with what any of them did or didn't do.

Secondly, I'm always a fan of having two narrators. I find it adds a second dimension to a book, so whenever I open a book and its there I do my happy dance.

Thirdly, the title of this novel couldn't be more perfect. It can be applied to almost all the characters. This book makes you realize how much courage it takes to Sacrifice something for a loved one. I think Adriana Locke created a beautiful masterpiece.
