Overall I enjoyed reading this book. It was well thought out and made you reflect on how the little things you say here and there can really affect a person, even if it wasn't intended. It is a great story and one that had to be told.
However, I would have preferred if Clay had played a bigger role in Hannah's story. He played such a tiny part that it was almost superfluous... The plot should have centered on a character whose actions contributed the most to Hannah's outcome. However, I can understand why Asher would have done something like this. Even the character who is unaware of his minuscule impact on someone's life, is still part of the general impact.
I would have also likes that Hannah's tapes went more into depth of how people's words and actions affected her instead of just "storytelling". Besides this, it was a well written novel that should be on your "to-be-read" lists.
