First, I want to commend Xandrie's writing. I have been reading her books since she first began writing this series, and I have been noticing a quality-filled progression from book to book. For one, her writing becomes more fluid and natural. I have a weird brain, so I'm going to say that it literally fills the page, in the sense that there are no disjointed parts in the text, and everything is effortlessly continuous.
Second, my doppelganger is amazing. In this installment, Xandrie picks up right where her debut novel, The Fervor, left off - and left us the readers gasping for more. Throughout The Hunter, Claire begins to learn more about her powers, and begins to ever so slowly and painfully embrace her supe side. Claire has become fierce and confident, and I like how she makes lets her mind guide her, and not her emotions - most of the time.
I hadn't realized ow much I missed Lucas and Claire together until I started reading this. It hit me all at once, and I didn't want to put this book down. I was both enchanted by the nostalgia of Claire and Lucas, and Xandrie's skillful writing.
Overall, I was very satisfied with this sequel, and CANNOT wait until the next one!

Xandrie truly outdid herself in this one! It was the complete package; action, plot, suspense, intrigue, and steamy scenes! She may have even crossed over to the hot and steamy naughty side if you catch my drift - *wink*.
Beauty & Beast is the sequel to The Fervor and features Camilla and West. Camilla is such a badass sassy chick and I love her. She is so brave and devoted to the people she cares about, and it was really apparent throughout the read. She is somewhat who I aspire to be like - always having great retorts and having people's backs.
The plot of the story was riveting and natural, moving not too fast, but not at a snails pace either. I believe that Xandrie's conciseness makes her a great author.
With every book Xandrie writes, her writing gets more and more confident and fluid. She is growing as a writer and finding that lexical rhythm that is her own (I should totally trademark that, because it's gold). She is trying out new things and seeing what works and what doesn't; feeling out her limitations and figuring out ways to always push them.

This book surprised me. It was not only supernaturally sexy, but also exciting and unexpected.
*wishing Lukas could lick me like he did Claire right now - dies*
This book was concise and to the point and held back nothing. You get sex, violence, gore, carnal behaviour all wrapped up in an exciting bundle of pages.
I really liked Claire as the protagonist of this story. Her thoughts made me laugh on many occasions, and I thought to myself, "damn I have a sick sense of humour - oh well". Although the book is on the shorter side, it does not lack character development, which is great!
Lastly, that ending took me completely by surprise - which is something that rarely happens for me. *standing ovation for Xandrie* and to top it all off, I felt my heart snap at the same time as Claire's in that epilogue; oh how you manipulate me so Xandrie. I want to know what happens next!!!
Side note: How cool is that cover? Xandrie Kovak is so talented!
