This was a beautiful book. I cannot believe I put reading this book off for so long. The plot is entertaining and the characters touching.
The story line was interesting, with many surprises. For the last 3/4 of the book, I was a goner. I didn't do anything but read until I finished it. So much suspense, and because of the enchanting writing, so many emotions were rushing through me for the last 1/3 of the book.
Sahara is strong, and compassionate despite all of her hardships. She has a kind heart and a beautiful soul, being loving and caring. There was great character development with her breaking down the barriers she had built up over the years.
Gabriel is also a good character; being strong-willed, stubborn and perseverant. The press conference after Julia leaked that Sahara had been a prostitute reinforced my respect for him. He had put everyone in their place; out if his business.
However, I have to say that Lucky stole the show for me. He was like a breath if fresh air in the book, and plastered a smile on my face while reading this in a crowded bus at 7:00 am. His raw innocence is exactly what the book needed.
In brief, Candice wrote a beautiful book and hope there will be many more from her to come!
