I received an ARC of this book from the publisher Thomas Nelson, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
This book had a great, original storyline, that had me hooked from the very first chapter. I don't normally read mysteries, but I may just start after this one. The plot kept me on the edge of my seat, believing the culprit was a different person at every chapter, and inevitably being tremendously surprised at the end.
I really liked how this book exposed the workings of hidden agendas in politics, and how all is not what it seams. How people are bought, persuaded, and influenced.
I also enjoyed how the main character was a forensic artist and not a detective as one would expect. She is nonetheless a great protagonist, who is experienced in the field, and is well educated in the sphere of police. Throughout the novel, we become greatly attached to the main character as we begin to learn more about her past and her personal life.
