A Cut So Deep - Dani René

I’ve been reading Dani René books for years. Since she released Crave I’ve hung onto every word she has written. I’ve seen her develop and flourish as an author, but I’ve never read something like this. This was a whole new level. It’s like she broke through a wall everything came together in the most beautiful way.

There is a newfound pace, peace and maturity to René’s writing in A Cut So Deep. She doesn’t shy away from difficult subject matter and forces you be confronted with it. The words will cut you deep – yes I did just write that cause I’m a dork, but its true. She shows impressive command of the story and her characters, Damien and Nesrin bloom in their environment. They ooze a richness and profoundness.

This new series she has created is promising to be an epic one and I cannot wait to see where she takes it in the next book!

I believe this is a new chapter in René’s writing, one I am happy to read every single page of with my heart skipping beats in my chest.

2 words: MAFIA PERFECTION

This novel by Dani René has everything you would want from a mafia romance: sexiness, angst, captor/captive, betrayal and surprise. All these elements come together in a captivating story where not everything is as it seems.

Victor and Sofia are hot. Not sizzling right from the start, but their connection is undeniable and the slow embering (yes I made up a word) burn between them is so delicious. They just capture your heart and you can't help falling for the Diablo and his juguette.

Not only did René manage to incorporate all these beautiful elements, she managed to crossover to another series - The Cavalieri della Morte. (If you have yet to read these books - do it now). It was such a fun surprise, and as a reader, I LOVE when worlds cross over.

All in all, I LOOOOVED this book, and for René's first Mafia? I gotta say it was expertly done. She has a grasp of the trop and was able to com through with the perfect ambiance and mood.

FIVE-ETIENNE-CAN-BE-YOURS-BUT-TARIAN-IS-MINE-STARS

Everything you want from a Dark New Adult Romance! Steam - check. Violence - check. Emotions - check. More of the Guilded Sovereign - CHECK WITH A KISS ON TOP. Those boys are panty-dropping swoony and moody. Hello!

There were so many secrets and revelations. So many twists and demons lurking in the corners. Just when you think you know what’s coming... René throws all of that out of the window and shows you you had it wrong all along. *insert applause*

Etienne and Rukaiya have this insane chemistry that so undeniably believable. Their relationship is so tangible and real. I was impressed with René’s character development and her grasp on human complexity.

All in all, what a great continuation to the Guilded Sovereign series, and I cannot wait for the third installment!

WOW WOW WOW! I ABSOLUTELY LOOOOVED THIS BOOK! Yes shouty caps were needed!

This book has everything Im looking for in romance : angst, intrigue, an intricate past and PLOT TWISTS! René got all those in there and created a mysterious world of a secret society and took me by surprise at every turn of the page. I simply devoured this book!

The flow of the book is excellent and it reads effortlessly. The coherent and reinforced metaphors give the book unity and the relationships between the diverse characters are complex and unique. René has truly created something special with this book and series to come!

While a lot is revealed in the book, so much is still so mysterious that I am yearning for the next book! There’s just so much I want to know about and gosh I’m still reeling from the angst and suspense! What a great tension-filled book!

If ya didn’t get the gist, I LOVED IT, and FYI, Tarian is mine *wink*

AMONG ASH AND EMBER - DANI RENÉ

This is, hands down, Dani René’s best work to date. HANDS DOWN. This story had it all, and the emotions had me a mess for most of it. It’s also important to note that I read this book twice, and the second time was just as impactful as the first, even though I knew what would happen... that is no easy feat at all, and shows the power of the writing in this book.

One thing that stuck out to me was the coherence and consistency of the flower and burning metaphors. The writing was poetic, the book read as a beautiful whole and unified piece, and is one of, heck, it IS René’s best compositions. There is no way you can read this book and be unmoved.

It’s books like these that make you realize the power of words. The most impactful moments in the book were a handful of words. But the weight and power those few words had? Unimaginable. René has tapped into something real and something heartfelt with this book, and it took my breath away.

Among Ash and Ember flowed so well while reading it. The words just string together so effortlessly and with such musicality that you cannot bring yourself to put the book down. What a great book by René that will stay with me for a long time.

I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Dani René!

What a great start to the series! Whatever pre-conception about what you think this will be, throw it out the window. You will be surprised by the twists, the turns, the darkness and the sweetness.

Lance and Giuliana are bot conventional. René does not write a trope. She creates her own story. She steps outside the box and writes a book that breaks the rules of “formula romance”. The story is unique and refreshing.

This is a story about lust and the forbidden. Be prepared for a buttload of delicious angst! Nothing is as simple as it seams and the line between good and evil is not as crisp and theorized.

I loved reading this book! Dani René is inventive and takes risks in this book that I believe paid off! I definitely recommend this book!

René took the BDSM genre to a whole new level with this one. It wasn’t your classic Dom finds sub, Dom falls for sub, Dom and sub live happily ever after. No. It was complex, there were multiple players, it was emotional and captivating.

This was more than just BDSM. This was a story about self-discovery and self-affirmation. It was about acknowledging what you want and standing up for what you want. It was about allowing yourself to be TRUE to yourself. To be YOU. And that was beautiful.

Not only does René captivate us with her beautiful theme and words, but this was some of the hottest stuff I’ve ever read from her. Umm, stuff that you tilt your kindle to make sure no one is reading over your shoulder cause you’re on a public bus. Yeah, THAT hot *smirk*

This book was the perfect conclusion to the Sins of Seven series, but I doubt it will be the end for these characters.

I absolutely loved this book. It wasn't overly dark, it was suspenseful, angsty and oh so delicious. I'd been waiting for Mason's story for so long having seen him appear in the previous Sins of Seven books, and his story was most definitely worth the wait.

Savannah and Mason and complex and original. There were plot twists I didn't see coming AT ALL, and I'm usually good at predicting them! I absolutely loved how captivating they are as a couple. You feel their connection jump off the pages. Truly electric.

There is just so much to love about this book, the broken-ness (yes I just invented a word) of Mason, the complex past of both the characters, as well as their present and future. It is such a layered story. The plot is expertly crafted and keeps you reeling until the very end.

Lastly, Dani René's writing was beautiful in this story. I love the way she reinforces the theme and uses the same word to symbolise different things. It gives the book a certain unity and coherence I love to find. Definitely a must-read.

If you follow my reviews, you'll know that René is one of my go-to's. One of my staple authors. She writes sexy and captivating reads, time and time again. This one? Next. Fucking. Level. (Too bad I'll have to change that line for Amazon) You want suspense? You got it. You want drama? Check. You want angst? Check. You want darkness? Well, you've come to the right place.

Not only is the story of the characters we follow dark, but it also shows glimpses of something beyond this book. And that's what grips you, really. The constant luring pulling you deeper and deeper into René's world. She is the master puppeteer and she holds all the strings to our hearts.

There A LOT of twists and turns in this story, and I don't want to ruin anything for anyone, so I'm gonna leave you with this... Not everything is as it seems. xx

Dani René has dived back into the darker side of her writing with this one. I say darker, but this is her darkest yet... and I absolutely loved it! It was raw, gritty, and intense! She managed to cram all of this high emotion into a novella. Quite a commendable feat!

I’m so happy with how René ended this novella. She brings you to the precipice and leaves you to fend for yourself against your own emotions and heart. It is glorious. She ramps it up at least 5 notches near the end. It’s riveting and addicting to read.

René’s writing is also improving. The style is becoming more pronounced and the flair is intensifying in a good way. I couldn’t help but highlight half the book for beautiful passages. Her literary language was on point for this one.

So basically, I think this story is one of Dani’s best, if not THE best. It’s dark, gritty, and intense. Utterly captivating.
