5 HOLY CORNELII STARS!

This book was amazing.
This book was flawless.
This book was everything.
This book was completely and utterly Amo Jones.

When you read an author who has a distinct voice and style, it’s something special. What makes is even more special? Witnessing the author’s growth, evolution and perfecting if their craft.

Yes, this was a dark book, it was full of Amo sass and witt, but it held some lighter moments. Some that made time still, where the tick tock faded away and you lived suspended between the words for a second. And that fellow readers, is what I call MAGIC.

Sass and Killian are complicated (SURPRISE! Haha) but gah the way Amo slowly reveals plot twist and layers of the story you thought you knew always enthralls me. The way she flips everything on its head.. GAH no words! She is a Q U E E N.

This series is quickly becoming one of my favourites and I cannot get enough of this world Amo Jones has created. Midnight Mayhem is Mind-blowing Masterpiece.

The Kiznitch Brothers are the Shiznitch!

Okay, jokes aside, this book held me captive from the very first page until the very last. The fact that Amo Jones is able to pull me in so completely and literally entrance me blows my mind. Everything is just so VIVID.

In true Jones fashion, this book will play tricks on your mind. It will distort reality and destroy all your bearings. It is not for nothing that she is the Queen of mind-fudge.

Dove and King are something special, unique, raw. There is a softness and a contradictory hardness to them. The world they are in is unique and fantastic. Jones is a master at world-building and creating secret worlds and societies. She never ceases to blow me away.

Now run and get your ticket to Midnight Mayhem! You won’t regret it!

MALUM PART 2 - AMO JONES

Well hello Amo fucking Jones! Can I get a HELL YES for Malum Pt 2! This book, I mean, this series(!) is an intricate web of interconnecting plots, and revelations, and lies and truths, and (there are not enough ands and virtual breaths for me to finish that sentence). I’m floored. Every. Single. Time. How does she untangle her gordeon knot? How does she unravel the plot to simply put it back together the way it was meant to be seen all along? How does she have the power to manipulate us readers so completely? Simple : Words.

Words are her weapon and she makes out head spin and renders us unable to stop flipping the pages. She is a true word Queen.

Yes, this book is twisted and edgy, but if you look closely, there’s a softness to it. The little subtleties are what made the book for me. We all love our dark reads, but Amo weaved some lightness in it and created a beautifully complex work. She tackles hard subject matter with grace and lightness. She didn’t use it for shock factor. She didn’t capitalize on it. She did it because the story called for it.

Nate and Tillie made my heart beat at a million miles an hour and my stomach flutter for the entirety of the book, and I loved it! Their chemistry jumps off the pages and their back and forth will be so realistic it will be hard to remind yourself that they are fictional. Jones is able to create the most complex and layered characters and give them life with her words. Magic? I think hell yes. No way is Jones a muggle.

If you haven’t yet, you HAVE to pick up this book. TRUST ME.

I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Amo Jones!

My first thought is WOW. There was so much in this book I NEVER saw coming. Jones has the ability to twist plots into directions you never thought were possible. She is the master of her craft and impressive to read.

When I finished this book last night, I simply stared at the ceiling of my bedroom for a solid few minutes, just to absorb what the frig I had just read. To process everything and get over one of the most gut-wrenching scenes I have ever read. Yes, I freaking cried okay? I do NOT cry. Pass the wine and ice cream.

Amo Jones never ceases to surprise me with the evolution of her writing. With each book she grows into a greater author. She pushes the boundaries and the quality of her words increases. There were So many beautiful lines. Beautiful metaphors. And the way she just spins on a dime and brings us back into a completely other ambiance with one line, how much CONTROL she has, just... no words.

I love how every Amo Jones plot is its own Gordian knot. With every attempt at unraveling it, we are faced with even more questions, and when we think we have it all figured out, she comes in like Alexander the Great and slices it in half, surprising us all. (I like history okay, don't judge)

So if you didn't get the gist yet, READ THIS BOOK.

I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Amo Jones!

I always described Amo Jones as the Queen of Darkness. I had it all wrong. Or maybe a little wrong. She’s not only the Queen of Darkness with a capital D, but also the Queen of Angst with a capital effing A. I actually really loved this story. It spoke to me on so many levels.

Amo Jones was able to accurately represent what it’s like to be falling for someone for the first time. How we let our brains stand in front of our hearts like a shield. How we let the “what if’s” drown out what our heart wants to tell us. How taking the leap for the first time is scary as f*uck. If I may quote my favourite rapper NF : “I don’t trust this thing that beats inside my chest”.

I love where Jones took it at the end. It was totally messed up and whack. It was Amo’s signature. That, and the constant push and pull between Maddox and Amethyst. It was road block after roadblock for them, and it will make your heart break and make you yell “NO!” at every turn in the story. I loved them both as characters. They were such fun to read, and Maddox had me all hot and bothered. Dayum.

My most favourite thing about this book though, is the challenging of the definition of the word “Family”. Is it blood? Is it who raised you? Is it who home is? Is it your reconstructed family? Is it who you call when you need someone? All these questions and scenarios come up, and the answer is simple : it’s who you choose your family to be, whether you’ve known them you’re whole life, or a few days.

And I can’t forget the playlist to this book. Nostalgia from my childhood favourites I used to sing in the car with my mum, and new favourites I belt out on the daily. From Nirvana to Halsey, from Lenny Kravitz to Post Malone. To be honest, I miss early 2000s rock, and this just brought me back.

I liked seeing this side of Amo Jones’ writing. The story read super well. It was fluid, and gave you all the feels. Is there anything Jones can’t do?

What the actual f*ck did I just read. This was such a complex, layered book where so many of our questions are finally answered, yet those now resolved questions are replaced by new questions rendering us just as puzzled as when we began the book. This story is so well crafted, and I just feel the need to underline it. There are so many plot layers in this book, and as soon as you think you have it figured out, that layer gets peeled away revealing a game-changer, where you will be saying in true Amo fashion : "Jesus take the wheel".

I fell in love with characters I never thought I would fall in love with. We see a whole other facet to these complex characters; these characters who are just as layered and question-igniting as the plot itself. We see some of their meticulously built walls crumble, or lose some bricks allowing us a peek inside them. You will see a whole other side to Bishop, to Brantley, to Nate, to Hunter, damn, to every King. You will see that things do affect them just like they affect us. You will see that their masks slip, and you will love it.

Amo has developed an artistic flair to her writing - a poetic side with beautiful musicality. This was a turning point for this series I think. Despite the plot being just as stratified as three planet earths put together, the quality of the writing in this one surpasses the previous books in the series, giving this one so much more depth. Some passages were awe-worthy, not because of their "mind-f*ckery", but because of their words. Because of how simple words strung together can express something profound. How mear letters can make you feel a massive wave of emotion; how mear letters can affect someone.

I think it is important to also point out that I gave up sleep for this book. I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning to finish this, because I could not put it down. The mear thought of doing so didn't sit right with me. Amo Jones is a master of not only intrigue building but intrigue maintenance - I know, I'm not very eloquent today, but what I'm trying to say is that it's relatively simple to create an intriguing premise, but it is difficult to keep that intrigue up for, oh, three whole novels and counting. *cue standing ovation*

So if you hadn't already gathered from reading one of my longest reviews yet, well, this book is the best one in the series thus far, and a beautiful turning point in Amo Jones' writing.

I received an ARC of this book form the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Amo Jones!

Oh man, how can a psychopath make me swoon so effing much? Because Amo Jones created him, that's why. Ever since I started this series, Frost has captured my attention. He is all dark, broody and mysterious. Speaking of mysterious, in this book, we see a completely different side to Ella. One that was always hidden from us. One that surprises us yet makes so much sense.

I stormed through this book. I couldn't believe I had finished it so quickly, and then I got really upset because I wanted MORE. Amo Jones better get her butt in gear, cause I'll go all Ella on her. *devilish grin followed by batting eyelashes*

Amo Jones is the queen of plot twists. I don't understand how she manages to tie up her million loose ends whilst creating a million more to keep us hanging by. Every resolution creates a new situation. When I think back to the first book in the series, I can clearly the layered complexity of the plot, and it is a breathtaking concept.

You may be asking yourself, why only 4.5 stars if ya loved it so much? Well... I want more darkness, more angst, more intensity. I think I may be a little Frost-y myself when it comes to books, or have been desensitized by so many angsty books I have read, but I was expecting more. Nevertheless, that is just my cold heart speaking out, because my brain LOVED IT.

I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Amo Jones!

This book... Oh man... Amo may have wrecked me with Raze and Millie's story. This book broke my heart (in a very pleasant way - if that wakes sense at all). This type of story is the kind yo stick with through thick and thin. It's your "Ride or Die" kind of story... Literally.

All I can thin about right now is that MILES NEEDS HIS OWN BOOK (I claim him, and I won't be afraid to fight for him). I foresee a massive book hangover from this story - I include part one and two in this statement.

I am having trouble putting into words what I'm feeling right now. That epilogue just brought me an immense amount of peace. It's not a stamped and sealed HEA, as I wouldn't expect one from Amo, but its damn perfect for me.

Just like its predecessor, this book was pretty much non-stop; not in a dizzying kind of way, but in a paced and logically organized manner. I truly wish one day I could meet Amo, and give her the biggest hug ever, and drink wine with her - and eat a shit ton of nuggets *wink*

I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thanks Amo Jones!

This book has just claimed the title of "Favourite book by Amo Jones". I am not kidding. I hadn't had a book affect me this much in a while. My heart felt like it was about to jump out of my chest the whole book. There was constantly something happening, a new development, a new lead.

This book regrouped everything I love about this type of romance; broken and breaking people, MC, Underground, and great character development. I may have fallen a little for Raze and Miles. A little hard. "Puddin'" will forever make me think of this book and Miles.

Yes, this book was filled with effed up shit that should have disgusted me, but man did I love it. I love the special relationship Miles and Millie shared. Heck the one Miles, Millie, and Raze shared. Is it crazy for me to say that I didn't mind it one bit, and even more than loved it.

Oh, and Amo made laugh so effing hard in public, people probably thought I was insane, so thanks girl. The word "Nuggets" will never have the same connotation. What is it with these food words being forever changed?

When I got to the end of this book, I saw the words "The End" and still tried to change the page on my phone. Multiple times. Yeah, I was that desperate for more.

Jones has an amazing talent for telling captivating, emotion churning, stories. She will pull you in and peek your interest in the first chapter - heck the first paragraph. She is not afraid to stay true to herself and go full-on psycho, which is refreshing (yes I said psycho and refreshing in the same sentence).

I am so happy that Jones does not shove an HEA down our throats. I'm not saying they are not present (or that they are for that fact) at all, but they're not the classic, unrealistic, and clear-cut. I discovered Amo Jones through The Silver Swan, and now that I'm going back in time (figuratively speaking), I can truly appreciate how she has grown as an author and storyteller (I wonder what bedtime stories she told her kids? *pensive face*).

Anyways, like her first novel, the writing is not perfect, but it gets the essence of the story across. It still ticks all the boxes in the way of emotional roller coaster, and me questioning myself if I'm sane for loving the effed up stuff in there. Jones made me feel a lot of emotion with this story. I was felt immense heartache for the characters, she got me all riled up when something exciting was happening, and she made me worry as if they were REAL.

Razing Grace is lined up on my kindle ready to go, so I'll be diving straight in because of Amo Jones and her damn endings.
