I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Giana Darling!

Ahhhhh my man is some HOT STUFF! This book was EXACTLY my kind of book. Suspense, angst, drama, twists and turns, sexy as sin, and filled with beautiful, consistent metaphors! (Literally the way to my heart)

First of all, I am always in awe when reading a Darling book, of the author’s skill in using the English language. Her beautifully written passages, her imagery and metaphors, her poetic language, all of it just so cohesive makes me happy. And when words make me happy, it’s the best feeling ever.

I had been waiting for this book for so long and man was I NOT DISAPPOINTED! DADDY DANNER IS EFFING HOT! He will melt your panties with his charming ways, wicked sex appeal, and poetic words.

This story is definitely a roller coaster. So many highs and lows, so many twists and turns. Darling truly knows how to surprise me and I love how brave a daring she is with her plot. She’s taking risks and it’s paying off!

So overall, I LOVED THIS BOOK! DANNER IS MINE, AND I NEED BOOK 4!

The Secret - Giana Darling

Oh my! What a book! Whew! So much happening psychologically with the characters in this one. They are battling themselves and their morality. What is right? What is wrong? What is meant to be? And what is not? All questions that this book revolves around.

There are so many emotions in this book. My heart was racing the entire time. Angst and anticipation are the main ones. Will anyone find out their secret? Will what happened in Mexico stay in Mexico?

Giana Darling has a talent of drawing the reader in and trapping them (in a good way) with her beautiful words. She creates stunning analogies and uses literary devices artfully. I guess you could say she has a handle on the english language *wink*

I honestly can’t wait to get to the final book, because this story is getting juicier and juicer as the pages go by... I am now fully invested in this story and cannot wait to continue it.

The Consequence - Giana Darling

What a great and fitting conclusion to this series.

This book is just so well titled : The Consequence. Sin and Elle have to deal with the consequences of their relationship; how it affects their family, their work, their image. It is in no way easy to come clean and deal with the aftermath, and Darling did it with realism and emotion. She made every character react the way they would have in real life.

Darling is extremely good at creating and giving life to characters. They all seem to live, breathe and come off the pages through their realism. That being said, there are still some pleasant surprises hidden within the pages of the novel.

This book also builds and cements the intrigue into Cosima's life. What is she hiding? Who is Xan? Where did he come from? Where did Dante come from? All these questions at the ack of our minds as we read and devour through Sin and Elle's story.

Overall, a fitting and beautiful finale to Sin and Elle's story and a great premise and intrigue creator for Cosi's!

The Affair - Giana Darling

I purchased this book a while back on a friend's recommendation. Now I understand what all the fuss is about! This story is sexy, and steamy, but also heartfelt. We just can't help ourselves from falling for the characters that Darling introduces to us in this story.

Darling has an ability to create complex characters who are so lively that they jump from the pages. She is able to capture a reader's attention and hold onto it for the entirety of the novel. She makes you, the reader, feel the spectrum of emotion that her characters do.

Due to the storyline, we do not learn much about the characters, which adds to the intrigue. We WANT to know more about them. We WANT to know EVERYTHING about them. We know that a darkness surrounds them, but we crave more.

This book is not perfect, but it doesn't have to be. Like every work of art, it is never perfect, and truly finished. The creative process is the total opposite of finality. Art is the total opposite of finality. As long as it makes you feel something, the artist has accomplished their mission. Darling has accomplished her mission.

I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Giana Darling!

This is a book of unexpecteds (yes I totally made up the plural form of that word to suit my point). I did not expect this book to affect me the way it did. I did not expect it to make my heart skip beats and break time and time again. I did not expect to fall in love with all the characters in this book. And I did not expect to find such gentleness in this story. Honestly, this is the second Giana book I read, and I should have expected such greatness. Silly of me, right?

This book is not only a love story, it is a book about strength, loyalty, comradery and friendship. It is about values and morals. It's about companionship, of any kind, friend, family (blood or not) and lover. The connections between the characters will be felt down to your bones.

This book touches a lot of subjects. Illness (Cancer), Autism, Integrity... Forbidden - or more likely frowned upon - love. This book (and series) shows us that love is love, no matter what shape, form, or age it takes. Again, Darling challenges our preconceptions and stereotypes. One of my favourite quotes in this book is, "just because someone is not who you want them to be, it does not mean they are incapable of good". I feel like this sums up the global vision of this book. Not everything is clear cut and dry, and those beautiful shades of grey is where we get lost in.

What a great book by Giana Darling.

Lessons in Corruption - Giana Darling

I purchased this book because I had heard such great things about this book and the author from friends of mine. And also because I had gotten an ARC of book 2, and I wanted to read book 1 first.

Oh my goodness, this book was soooo sinfully good. This is a teacher-student romance that doesn't feel like a teacher-student romance. I typically don't like them because they get cheesy real easy. There was no cheesiness whatsoever in this book. I fell in love from the very first page with the characters.

I loved the way Paradise Lost was an integral part of the book. It's been on my TBR for awhile, and let me just say that it moved up in the list! I actually love intertextuality and it makes me really happy when it is done well, and boy was it done well. From previous reviews (if you follow me) you will know that I LOVE poetry in books. It's actually my weakness. I just love them, and this book delivered in a big way. MC + poet? My knees are weak.

Not only will the poetry make your knees weak, but the romance and lust as well. King can not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. He is absolutely sinfully beautiful. Every character was unique, and had their own voice. I loved Cress’s character development in this book. She finds herself and becomes who she is meant to be. She stands up for what and who she believes in, and loves with ferocity.

Darling makes us reflect on our preconceptions, and our stereotypes. She not only makes us see the goodness where we wouldn't expect to find it, but also the darkness where we wouldn't. I think she is a very talented author who writes with conviction and strength.

I cannot wait to dive into book two!
