I got an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you NetGalley!
I want to start off by saying that my first impression about this book was not very good. I found that the ends of the first chapters were exceedingly similar, and the story was not very enticing. However, as I kept reading, the plot got very interesting about one third of the way through, and I found myself pulled into the world of the Icarii.
One thing that I found was very interesting and unique, is that we never truly know the main character's name. We know quite a bit about her, except her name, and I am quite pleased at the way the author went about doing this.
Another thing the author does brilliantly, is the subtle but present character development of the main character. It changes are done gradually and naturally, which is the best a reader can get from an author.
In brief, stick with this book, and you'll be extremely satisfied with it. Another good book by a Canadian author. (Proud Canadian right here!)
