I really wanted to like this book. It had everything going for it - angels, demons, mythology, an oracle... What was the problem? Well there were a few.
First, the plot was predictable. It was obvious that the last realm on the last possible day was going to be the one she was looking for. It was foreseeable that Carrie was going to do anything to save Sebastian's soul and that Lucifer was going to save her from her contract..
This is where the second issue is. If she can technically save someone's soul by trading in her own, and not ever having to give up her soul due to Lucifer's intervention, then she can theoretically save everyone without consequence - which entails that she no longer has a problem with being the oracle and not being able to save anyone.
Other than those two issues, I quite like Gabriel and Beldham; they are my favourite characters in the book, and are what somewhat saved it for me. I really hope the sequel does not introduce a love triangle. I think it would ruin the atmosphere of the book.
