I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Marni Mann!

God I love Marni Mann’s books. They are so well written. Every word flows effortlessly into the next, making a fluid and cohesive read. The author is extremely good at what she does.

I liked the premise of this book. It was original and had depth. It wasn’t frivolous or anything, it dealt with the issue of privacy, especially celebrities’ privacy, which they are entitled too as well. She directs a critical eye towards the media, and how easily a while career can be destroyed in literally seconds. It is a modern and à propos story.

The only thing about this book is that it is a little predictable. There were still a few surprises, but the main lines of the plot can be figured out easily. Despite its predictability though, Mann is able to keep the reader hooked the whole way through - because that’s what good authors do.

Overall, I’m happy with this read, and look forward to Mann’s next book!

I received an ARC of this book from Sassy Savvy Fabulous PR in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Sassy Savvy Fabulous PR!

What a beautiful read. I am a huge fan of Marni Mann's, and this book did not disappoint. It was a touching book about two people pulling themselves out of their holes, and helping each other heal.

Andi is an unbelievably strong woman who is stuck in an abusive relationship. She is attempting to run from this toxic life she is trapped in, and in doing so meats Adrian. (Why are their names so similar?)Adrian has been shunned and shamed by the sports world by being (wrongfully) accused of doping his teammates.

Andi and Adrian's chemistry is undeniable, and as soon as they meet, it is electrifying. What I really enjoyed about this book, is the support system their friends create. Camille, Russell, and Charlie are all inspiring friends, going in and sticking through the worst parts of their friend's lives, and doing everything they can to help.

Side note: I totally ship Camille and Russell.

Total must-read!

I am a huge fan of Marni Mann's writing, and this was my favourite book yet. It was Light and Dark, beautiful, and touching. Mann is able to expertly weave a compelling plot moving forward at a perfect pace and create complex layered characters that pull you even deeper into the story. I could not stop reading this book, and willed my bus rides to be longer so that I could keep reading. Alas, they weren't, but I feel completely satisfied after I have finished the book, wrapped in blankets, and not on an uncomfortable bus seat.

This novel deals with the abuse of children in the foster system, the horrors they go through, and the possible positive outcomes for them. Mann is extremely talented at creating equilibriums in her books; balancing the light and the dark, the good and the bad- Justice and Fairness. (A modern day female Herodotus? Wow my English class is rubbing off on me) I was extremely touched by Trapper's story and his work at the compound. I have to say that I was on the verge of tears at a couple of instances during this read.

Brea is a great main character who is strong and stubborn. She and her best friend Frankie perfectly complement each other, guiding one another in difficult times. They have both been through their fair share of shit, but they are warriors and come out on top as brave, beautiful women.

I firmly believe that this book deserves more than 5 stars, however, Goodreads does not allow for higher ratings... But my blog does! Because I decided it does ;)

Seductive Shadows

This read was a little slow to get into, but was definitely worth it. It kept me on edge until the very end. Charlie was an amazing main character that showed such growth. A main focus in this book is character dev elopement, and it was beautifully thought out. I'm still moved by the ending chapters. I could relate to Charlie in some ways, and I'm glad she found her "Kiss". Stunning and beautiful read.

Seductive Secrecy

Wow. Just wow. It was raw, emotional, carnal and I loved every single word of it. This is the kind of book that rips your heart open and leaves you wanting more. The characters were spectacular. Everything was just so REAL. Nothing was sugar-coated and embellished to make it a light read. It was anything but and I thank the author for it. For me, it was one of those books (duology in this case) that changed me after reading them. It wasn't a basic book about that "cookie-cutter" love story. (We all know those books I'm talking about; and don't get me wrong, I enjoy those, but not as much as this one.
