Ahhhh, this series has me so emotionally invested it’s not even funny. I wish I didn’t have school and didn’t have to sleep so that I could marathon the rest of this series. It’s honestly so hellishly hood, I nearly can’t handle it.
The hot and cold between the characters is done in a way that is not annoying of predictable. It’s done with intent and reason, and not simply because romance “must have” back and forths. (Yes, those are quotation marks, because often there is too much back and forth it makes my head spin). But in this book, it is executed tastefully and with elegance.
One of Scarlett’s strengths is her ability to consistently keep her pace and flow of plot. It’s a page turner for sure without constantly having “bams” at every page. She keeps the reader hooked with her words alone. She is a talented writer for sure.
I’m so thrilled to have been introduced to this series by a reader friend of mine. There is the perfect amount of angst, and suspense, balanced by the poetic, and smooth scenes. This is PNR at its best.
