Aelin showed much growth in this book. We really got to see, as readers, the vulnerability she is trying to hide from everyone. This makes her more relatable and my love for her goes on. She is just a great heroine, who is thrown into a role in the midst of rebellions and unstable kingdoms. She does everything to the best of her capabilities and I admire her for that. She truly shows that she doesn't give up for those she loves and even those she may not know very well.
I absolutely love the new "relationship" (if I can even call it that) between Manon and Aelin. It is bound to be a great asset to the plot of the next book. I am interested to see where Sarah J Maas will go with this, and knowing her, it is going to be fantastic as always.
Sarah J Maas has such a grasp of how to write enticingly. Her words and worlds are utterly captivating and keep you readingpage after page until you have finished the book and you wonder where all those hours just went. It's as if you've stepped foot in another universe completely.
